The Ferrari 458 Italia at Automesse Salzburg 2023 brought a 570-PS V8 to a fair of local dealers. It stood on its own white carpet, with a chrome stanchion and a black rope keeping hands off. A tricolore stripe runs over the front of the bonnet, and the prancing horse sits on the nose.
We filmed it on Saturday 25 March 2023. The organiser counted about 170 vehicles from local dealers at the 14th Automesse, and the Ferrari stood out from the rest.
We uploaded the walkaround on 23 July as “NEW Ferrari 458 Italia – Overview WALKAROUND Exterior”, but the “NEW” is YouTube packaging. The 458 Italia went on sale in 2009, and this one is a used car on a dealer’s stand.
570 PS At 9,000 rpm
The AUTO TV walkaround runs through the car in spec-sheet order. It points out a low bonnet and sloping roofline designed with Pininfarina, a wide stance and a 4.5-litre V8 with direct injection. It adds a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a successor in the 488 GTB.
Ferrari’s own figures, as Wikipedia gives them, are 570 PS at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.4 seconds, and the top speed is over 325 km/h.
Ferrari presented the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009. The 488 GTB replaced it in 2015.
The cost of that output is thirst. Wikipedia lists 13.3 litres per 100 km combined and 307 g/km of CO2.
Italia, Spider Or Speciale
Ferrari built the 458 from 2009 to 2015 as the Italia coupe, the Spider and, from 2013, the Speciale. Wikipedia lists the Speciale at 605 PS against the Italia’s 570.
The video calls this car an Italia. Our photographs show the front end, the wheels and the stripe, but not the details that would tell the versions apart.
A €194,000 Car In Germany
Auto Bild lists the 458 Italia at €194,000 in Germany for the 07/2009 to 10/2012 build period, and says the model starts at around €200,000.

Our Take: Still A Supercar On Paper
The AUTO TV video calls the 458 Italia a piece of Italian design and engineering that balances form and function, still prized by enthusiasts and collectors.
Our photographs show why it drew a rope. The paint is clean, the stripe is unmissable, and the long nose and slim headlamps mark it as a 458. A 570-PS V8 that peaks at 9,000 rpm still reads like a supercar 14 years after the Frankfurt debut.
