Peugeot has brought the RCZ name back for a four-seat electric coupé with 500 hp, a solid-state battery and a glass roof that runs from nose to tail. The RCZ Vision, a world premiere on Peugeot’s stand in Paris, is a concept. But the Hypersquare wheel and the steer-by-wire inside it reach production from 2027.
Peugeot calls it a “brand manifesto” and the fullest expression yet of its new “Feline Future” design language. The name helps. The original RCZ is still the car people point at when someone says Peugeot can do beautiful.
A Roof Made Of Glass
The silhouette is long and low, and the glass does most of the work. A “bubble roof” runs from the bonnet to the tail, reinterpreting the original RCZ’s double-bubble roof and its cockpit arches, here finished in recycled-aluminium paint.
At the front, a horizontal “three claws” light signature, thin LED headlamps and an illuminated lion badge set the face of future Peugeots. An active spoiler stays hidden until it’s needed. The forged wheels measure 21 inches at the front and 22 at the rear.
A Wheel You Barely Turn
Inside, Peugeot previews its next i-Cockpit. The round wheel gives way to a Hypersquare control with steer-by-wire, at slightly under one turn lock to lock, and the brakes are by-wire too, a Peugeot first.
Transparent Micro LED displays let the central screen switch off and almost disappear. The light-blue cabin uses Alcantara and recycled leather, and the dashboard clock is a removable Serica watch. Peugeot says the back seats carry two adults “in comfort”.
A Battery Just 110 mm Thick
The concept sits on Stellantis’ STLA One platform. Its solid-state battery, developed with Factorial Energy, is just 110 mm thick and runs on a 1,000-volt architecture.
Peugeot quotes 500 hp, up to 600 km of range and 10–80% charging in 10 minutes. These are concept claims, and Peugeot hasn’t said which test cycle the range uses.
Where The Hardware Goes Next
Peugeot hasn’t announced a production RCZ, so this coupé stays a show car and nobody can order one. What Peugeot will build is the steering. Hypersquare and steer-by-wire reach production from 2027, and the RCZ Vision’s Hypersquare is the same production version planned for the next E-208.
“With RCZ Vision, we are giving our design language, Feline Future, a new expression.”

Our Take
The RCZ Vision drew one of the biggest crowds on the Peugeot stand, with a wall of phones behind it when we filmed. Under the lights, the glass canopy and the long, low nose read as a design study, which is exactly what it is.
For anyone shopping for a Peugeot in the next few years, the car to watch is the next E-208, which gets the same Hypersquare wheel. Peugeot’s other Paris concept shows what that car could look like, and the rest of the show is in our Paris Motor Show 2026 hub.
