The Air Pure was the car Lucid needed Europe to see. Lucid called it “the company’s most accessible model”, and before IAA Mobility 2023 it said the car would “celebrate its premiere on the European stage” in Munich. The stage was a pop-up studio at Königsplatz 1, with the Air Touring and Air Grand Touring beside it.
Lucid showed more than one Air in Munich, and our photographs catch two of them. One is a silver car with an “Air PURE” plate, parked on artificial turf outdoors with a few visitors beside it. The other is a white car with an “Air GRAND TOURING” plate, in a showroom space with large windows.

One Face From Entry Car To Flagship
Both cars wear the same front end. The nose is very low, a slim light bar runs across it, and “LUCID” is lettered along the edge of the bonnet. So from the front, the way into the range shares its face with the Grand Touring above it.
Lucid split its Munich presence across two addresses. The Königsplatz studio was open daily from 5 to 10 September, from 10:00 to 20:00, with short test drives offered nearby. A second studio at Odeonsplatz 2 showed the Air Midnight Dream Edition.
Lucid described the Midnight Dream as a limited run made for Europe and not sold in the United States. Media and invited guests saw it on 5 and 6 September, and the public from 7 September.
What The Smaller Battery Buys
On Lucid’s published figures, the Air Pure has a combined WLTP range of up to 725 km at 14.1 kWh/100 km. The Grand Touring is rated at up to 839 km at 14.9 kWh/100 km. The Midnight Dream Edition gets up to 799 km at 16.6 kWh/100 km.
electrive’s report of May 2023 explains the gap. The Air Pure AWD and the Air Touring share a 92 kWh battery that charges at up to 250 kW, while the Grand Touring carries 113 kWh. So the entry car is the most frugal Air on paper, but it also has the shortest claimed range of the three in Munich.
Power follows the same ladder, with 353 kW for the Pure AWD and 456 kW for the Touring. The Grand Touring was already being delivered in Europe. Lucid planned Touring deliveries from the third quarter of 2023 and Pure AWD deliveries from the fourth.
A Cheaper Air Within Five Months
In Germany, electrive reported €109,000 for the Air Pure AWD and €129,000 for the Air Touring, with orders open from May 2023. We did not find a Grand Touring price from that date.
The price list moved quickly after the show. In February 2024 ecomento reported a new rear-wheel-drive Air Pure with a claimed 747 km, starting at €85,000. Lucid’s German range then ran from €85,000 to €250,000 for the Sapphire.
That €85,000 belongs to a new, cheaper variant. It was no price cut on the car shown in Munich.
Our Take
The Air Pure mattered because it was the way into Lucid’s range, and Munich is where Lucid chose to give it its European premiere. The lowest German price we found for an Air then fell from €109,000 to €85,000 within five months, once the rear-wheel-drive version arrived.
Every range figure here is Lucid’s own, so the thing to watch is how the Air Pure’s 725 km holds up in independent tests.
