Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer Up Close: Up To 689 km And 605 Litres In An Electric Estate

Volkswagen's electric estate was already priced in Belgium when we photographed it in Brussels in January 2025. Range and space make its case, and the Belgian price is what a buyer weighs against them.

Volkswagen’s ID.7 Tourer makes its case with range and space. Volkswagen claims up to 689 km of WLTP range for the longest-range version and quotes 605 litres of luggage space with five on board. It also said the Tourer was among the first all-electric estates in its class.

Brussels in January 2025 was not a premiere for it. Volkswagen unveiled the Tourer on 19 February 2024 as a world premiere, almost a year earlier, and builds it at the Emden plant alongside the ID.7 fastback and the ID.4. By the time we photographed it at the Brussels Motor Show, it already had a Belgian price.

A Decal That Says 688 km

The car on the stand is dark blue, with the “New ID.7 Tourer” plate on the nose and white decals along the sill. One reads “ID.7 Tourer”; another reads “Range up to 688 km”.

That figure is the stand’s own decal, not a number from Volkswagen’s press material. Volkswagen’s figure at the premiere was “up to 685 km”, and its current data page lists up to 689 km for the longest-range version.

From the front, a light strip runs between slim headlamps under the VW badge, above a shallow lower air intake, and the car sits on large multi-spoke alloy wheels. A red Volkswagen stands beside it. Both of our photographs show it from the front three-quarter, with a few visitors looking at the car behind it.

The stand itself had a history. D’Ieteren, the Belgian importer of Volkswagen Group brands, was among those reported to have withdrawn from the cancelled 2024 show, and AutoGids reported that its brands, including Volkswagen, were back in Palais 11 for 2025.

Pro S Is The One For Long Trips

Volkswagen offers the Tourer with two battery sizes. The Pro has a 77 kWh net battery and 286 PS, with a WLTP range of 524 to 606 km and charging at up to 175 kW.

The Pro S keeps the same 286 PS but moves to an 86 kWh net battery, a range of 578 to 689 km and charging at up to 200 kW. Volkswagen says that takes about 26 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent, so the bigger battery buys both more distance and a faster stop.

The GTX adds a second motor, all-wheel drive and 340 PS, with 516 to 584 km. Volkswagen gives each range as a span, not a single figure.

605 Litres With Five Aboard

The Tourer is 4,961 mm long. Volkswagen quotes 605 litres of luggage space with five on board, and 1,714 litres with the seats folded and the car loaded to the roof.

The Price Is The Counterweight

In Belgium, Autotijd’s price list, added in March 2024, shows the Pro at €62,165 and the Pro Business Premium at €64,930, VAT included. That is the cost of the range and the space, and it is the main thing a buyer has to weigh against them.

Volkswagen’s own data page, updated 26 November 2025, gives a starting price of €54,905 including VAT, but does not name the market. We cannot compare the two figures directly, because we do not know which market and trim the second one refers to.

Our Take

We did not drive the ID.7 Tourer, so this is a read of the stand and the published numbers. On those numbers the car is built for distance and luggage: up to 689 km claimed and 605 litres with five aboard.

What to watch is the Pro S. It carries the longest range and charging at up to 200 kW, and whether Belgian buyers pay for it over the Pro is something sales will show, not a stand in Brussels.
