Brussels Motor Show 2025: Back After A Year Away, With 307,363 Visitors And Car Of The Year

Febiac's show returned to Brussels Expo with 63 brands after the 2024 cancellation. We photographed three Car of the Year finalists, a Twingo prototype and the new Mazda 6e, and the finalists already had Belgian prices.

The Brussels Motor Show came back in January 2025 after a year away, and it came back full: 307,363 visitors and 63 car and light-commercial brands, by organiser Febiac’s count. It also hosted the European Car of the Year final, which the Renault 5 E-Tech and its sibling, the Alpine A290, won with 353 points, according to New Mobility.

Belgium had no Brussels Motor Show in 2024. Belga reported that Febiac, the Belgian automotive federation, cancelled it after a number of important exhibitors withdrew. The 101st edition ran at Brussels Expo (Heysel) from 10 to 19 January 2025, and New Mobility reported that Friday 10 January was press and VIP day.

63 Brands And 7 World Premieres

Febiac’s results page counts more than 100 exhibitors on about 56,000 m², and says the 63 brands cover 90.4% of the Belgian car market. It lists 7 world premieres, 14 European premieres, 56 Belgian premieres and 7 concept cars. All of these are organiser figures.

The big groups were back too. AutoGids reported that the D’Ieteren brands (Audi, Porsche, Škoda, Volkswagen) had returned to Palais 11 and the Stellantis brands to Palais 5. The Car of the Year result was announced at the show on 10 January, and we photographed three of the seven finalists on the floor.

Three Car Of The Year Finalists, Already Priced

Alfa Romeo Junior

The Junior was announced as the Milano. Alfa Romeo renamed it in April 2024 after Italy’s industry minister, Adolfo Urso, said a car called Milano could not be built in Poland (electrive, 16 April 2024).

The car on the stand carried a “Car of the Year 2025 Finalist” sticker, but it came seventh of seven in the vote, with 136 points. The Elettrica has a 54 kWh battery, 115 kW and up to 410 km of WLTP range. In Belgium, Autotijd’s July 2024 list ran from €29,210 for the Ibrida to €40,710 for the Elettrica Speciale.

Hyundai Inster And Inster Cross

Hyundai’s Belgian press kit presented the Inster as a Belgian premiere and a Car of the Year finalist, and it finished fourth with 172 points. Hyundai Europe headed its show release “Triple European Unveil” and put the Inster Cross, unveiled on 15 October 2024, next to it.

Hyundai quotes up to 370 km of WLTP range for the Inster and 360 km for the Cross. Autotijd’s Belgian list of December 2024 runs from €24,499 to €33,049.

Kia EV3

The EV3 finished second with 291 points. Kia Belux opened orders in July 2024 from €41,190 for the 81.4 kWh version (600 km WLTP), then added a 58.3 kWh version from €36,890 in September (436 km).

The full Belgian list, with the GT Line at €50,390, was in Autotijd’s December 2024 update. The car we photographed carries an “EV3 Business” card.

New Arrivals, From A Toyota Prototype To A Twingo

Toyota Urban Cruiser

Toyota revealed the electric Urban Cruiser online on 12 December 2024, then called the show its first public appearance in Europe. The car on the stand is marked as a prototype model. Toyota lists 49 kWh (106 kW) and 61 kWh (128 or 135 kW) versions and a length of 4,285 mm.

Neither Toyota release gave a price. When Toyota’s Dutch prices came out in May 2025 (Autozine, 13 May 2025), they ran from €32,995 to €39,795; we did not find a Belgian launch list.

Škoda Enyaq Coupé

Škoda premiered the updated Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé online on 8 January 2025, two days before the doors opened. The Coupé’s drag coefficient is 0.225 and its boot holds 570 litres, according to Škoda. Škoda Belgium published its prices on 13 January, and egear.be listed the Coupé at €53,080 (60), €61,065 (85) and €64,525 (85x).

Mazda 6e

Mazda says the 6e premiered at the show on 10 January. It is the European version of the Mazda EZ-6, developed with Changan Automobile. Mazda lists a 68.8 kWh battery (479 km WLTP) and an 80 kWh battery (552 km), and a length of 4,921 mm. AutoScout24.be listed Belgian prices of €42,890 and €45,290 in March 2025.

Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric Prototype

Renault used Brussels to reveal the interior of this show car, first seen in Paris in October 2024: a 7-inch instrument panel, a 10.1-inch screen and a sliding rear bench. Renault said the production car would go on sale in 2026 and that it was aiming for an entry price under €20,000.

When orders opened on 16 December 2025, electrive reported €21,090 for the Techno, with the Evolution from €19,490 to follow in spring 2026, both before incentives.

Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer

Volkswagen unveiled the electric estate in February 2024 and builds it in Emden. It offers 77 or 86 kWh net batteries and up to 689 km of WLTP range. Autotijd’s Belgian list of March 2024 ran from €62,165 to €64,930. We look at the car in detail in our ID.7 Tourer Up Close.

Our Take

Brussels 2025 was a sales show, and our photographs show it: price cards on windscreens, Car of the Year stickers on bonnets, stand cards beside the cars. Three of the cars we photographed, the Inster, the EV3 and the Junior, were among the seven finalists, and all three already had Belgian prices. The Twingo prototype pointed at the cheaper end of the market that Renault was aiming for.

The thing to watch is the calendar. New Mobility reported in April 2025 that D’Ieteren and BMW were said to prefer a show every two years, while Febiac announced a 102nd edition for January 2026. Our Brussels Motor Show 2026 report picks up from there.
