Kia EV5 GT-Line First Look: The Only EV5 With A Massage Seat And Head-Up Display

We filmed the black GT-line in Graz. Kia Austria lists it at €54,590, while the lettering on its windscreen read from €42,590 for the EV5.

On Kia Austria’s list, the EV5 GT-line is the only EV5 with a head-up display, a massage function for the driver and fingerprint authentication. AUTO TV’s walkaround of the black GT-line at MotionExpo Graz goes through all three. Kia Austria lists the trim at €54,590 with front-wheel drive.

The Seat Is The Reason To Buy It

Kia Austria’s list pairs the driver’s massage function with Premium Relaxation front seats. Kia’s page describes those seats as heated and ventilated, with electric adjustment and an easy recline. It says they and the fingerprint system are exclusive to the trim.

The video calls the driver’s seat the strongest case for the GT-line. The list adds two-tone artificial leather, 19-inch wheels and a Harman Kardon sound system.

The video also points out the flat rear floor, and Kia’s page says rear passengers get more than a metre of legroom.

Same Battery, Same 216 PS, Same Charging Stop

Every front-drive EV5 on the list shares an 81.4 kWh battery and a 160 kW motor, so the GT-line adds equipment and no output. It makes 216 PS and goes up to 530 km, or 265 PS and up to 480 km with all-wheel drive.

The catch is charging speed. Kia lists a 150 kW DC peak on a 400-volt system, and puts 10 to 80 per cent at about 30 minutes on a charger of at least 150 kW. An 11 kW wallbox takes about 7 hours 20 minutes from 10 to 100 per cent.

The boot holds 566 litres with five aboard, plus a 44.4-litre front trunk. The video says the front trunk keeps the charging cable apart from luggage. Kia gives every EV5 seven years or 150,000 km of warranty.

Three Prices Around One Car

We filmed the black EV5 on the show days, 14 and 15 March, and published the video in April. Our photograph from Sunday 15 March shows it on the stand where banners read Robinson, Mazda, Kia and MG, with “Der neue Kia EV5” along its flank.

The windscreen lettering said “Kia EV5, ab EUR 42.590,-“. Behind the glass sat a sheet headed “Kia EV5 GT-line”.

  • Kia Austria’s price list, opened on 15 October 2026, prices the GT-line at €54,590 with front-wheel drive and €57,590 with all-wheel drive, including VAT. The whole EV5 list runs from €45,590 (Air) to €57,590, with the Launch Edition at €49,190.
  • The organiser’s new-car list gives a price from €42,590 at Autohaus Robinson, “alle Aktionen berücksichtigt” (all promotions counted), and from €45,590 at Autozentrum Harb.
  • Kia Austria’s EV5 page shows “ab € 45.190” on the same day. That is the Air’s €45,590 list price less a €400 insurance bonus, valid to 31 December 2026.

Only the first is Kia’s list price for the car in the photograph. Our report on Kia’s electric range on regional stands compares the price cards across the brand’s other models.

Preliminary Range, And A GT Above It

Kia Austria’s list still calls its range figures preliminary, and its spec table spans 505 to 530 km. Buyers who want more output can look at the dual-motor EV5 GT, listed from €60,590 on Kia Austria’s page.

Our Take

The AUTO TV walkaround concludes that the GT-line adds enough of the EV5’s strengths to earn its premium for an owner who keeps the car five years or more. On Kia’s list that premium is €9,000 over the Air, and it buys equipment only.

That equipment is the point. The massage seat, the head-up display and the fingerprint reader are things no other EV5 on the list offers, so the decision comes down to how much the driver’s seat matters.
