Mercedes GLB With EQ Technology First Look: Three Prices For One Electric SUV In Graz

The seven-seat GLB 250+ has 200 kW, an 85 kWh battery and up to 631 km WLTP. In Graz, a dealer card, the organiser and the AUTO TV video each gave it a different price.

Mercedes’s electric GLB replaces the EQB with up to seven seats on an 800-volt platform, and at MotionExpo Graz it came with three different prices. A card on the windscreen said “ab 50.365”, the organiser’s list said €57,890, and the AUTO TV video gave €59,048 for the GLB 250+.

Only one of those is an Austrian list price. Pappas’s Austrian page, opened on 15 October 2026, prices the GLB 250+ at €57,890, the organiser’s figure.

The Harb Car And Its Three Prices

We filmed the GLB at MotionExpo Graz and photographed it on Sunday 15 March 2026. The white car stood on the Autozentrum Harb stand, with the dealer’s logo on the doors and a card under the windscreen reading “Der neue GLB 250+ ab 50.365”.

  • The Harb card, photographed on 15 March 2026, reads “ab 50.365”, with the last characters hidden.
  • The organiser’s new-car list names the “Mercedes-Benz GLB 250+ EQ” at dealer Pappas Steiermark GmbH, “ab 57.890,- Euro inkl. MwSt.”. The page was opened on 15 October 2026 and carries no date.
  • The video gives €59,048 for the base GLB 250+, which is Mercedes’s German launch price (electrive, 8 December 2025).

Pappas’s Austrian page runs from €52,250 (GLB 200) to €60,990 (GLB 350 4MATIC), gross including VAT and NoVA.

A black GLB stood elsewhere in the Mercedes-Benz area, beside a blue “NEUHEIT” floor sign. “Neuheit” is the stand’s word, and the organiser’s list carries no premiere tag for the GLB.

A Cabin Borrowed From Bigger Cars

The AUTO TV walkaround says the GLB looks like a Mercedes that happens to be electric, which the EQB never managed. It describes the car in the video as AMG Line with the Night Package. In the photograph the grille is a black panel of small lit stars around the badge, with a thin light strip running into the headlamps.

Inside, the video points to the MBUX Superscreen. It puts a 10.25-inch instrument display and 14-inch centre and passenger screens under one glass surface, with 11 ambient-light styles.

Mercedes says it brought back a rocker for the speed limiter and adaptive cruise control and a roller for volume, after repeated customer requests. The software runs MB.OS, with AI from Microsoft and Google and Google Maps navigation. The video calls it the best software stack Mercedes has shipped in a compact car.

Room For Seven, Four Child Seats

The second row slides 140 mm, and the optional third row behind it has room for people up to 1.71 metres (Mercedes). Rows two and three take four child seats in total, which the video says separates the GLB from rivals that stop at two.

Boot space is 540 litres in the five-seater and 480 litres with seven seats. Folded, that becomes 1,715 and 1,605 litres. The 127-litre front trunk is the largest in Mercedes’s new model family.

A three-source heat pump draws heat from the motor, the battery and the air. Mercedes says it heats the cabin twice as fast as the predecessor on about half the energy, measured on a 20-minute trip at minus 7 degrees. The video asks whether that holds in Austrian winters.

What Mercedes Says It Is

Mercedes unveiled the GLB with EQ technology on 8 December 2025, and series production started in Kecskemét on 20 January 2026 (electrive). The GLB 250+ pairs a 200 kW rear motor with 335 Nm and an 85 kWh battery.

DC charging peaks at 320 kW, and the 800-volt system adds up to 260 km in ten minutes (Mercedes). Pappas’s page lists 22 minutes for 10 to 80 per cent.

The extra length goes to the back seat. The wheelbase is 60 mm longer than the EQB’s, and Mercedes gives the second row up to 68 mm more legroom.

The 631 km Is The Best Case

Mercedes’s table gives the GLB 250+ a WLTP range of 542 to 631 km, an 89 km spread. Pappas’s Austrian page lists 543 km, close to the bottom of that band.

The Card To Ask About

The Harb card is the one to ask about. “Ab 50.365” sits below even Pappas’s €52,250 for the entry GLB 200, so ask Harb for the full figure and what it includes. Our report on the new Mercedes compacts follows the GLB, CLA and GLC across four show floors.

Our Take

The AUTO TV walkaround reads the GLB as a pricing story. It argues that the options list sets what the car costs, because the Superscreen sits behind a paid package and adaptive suspension, wireless charging and keyless entry are extras.

Its conclusion is that Mercedes priced the base car against the Tesla Model Y and set the options so the car you want costs more. It asks whether the base GLB makes the same argument as a well-optioned one.

Pappas’s list adds a model spread on top of that. The electric GLB runs from €52,250 to €60,990 before any options, so the dealer’s written quote matters more than the “ab” figure on any card.
