Peugeot revived the RCZ and the 205 T16 as electric concepts, smart brought back the two-seater from €19,990 and about 20 Chinese brands filled the halls. These are the 15 cars we filmed at the 2026 Mondial de l'Auto, updated through show week.

Paris brought back the RCZ as a 500-hp electric coupé, turned the 205 T16 into an 816-hp hot hatch for its 40th birthday and showed a 2 CV that Citroën promises to build by 2028. Renault answered with a six-seat tribute to the 1984 Espace and the 555-hp R5 Turbo 3E.

Not everything was a concept. smart revived the two-seat city car from €19,990, Volkswagen showed the ID. Tiguan to the public for the first time and Škoda brought its seven-seat Peaq. About 20 Chinese and Chinese-owned brands came too, roughly double 2024.

We filmed every one of them on the show floor, and each car below links to its own First Look.

The catch for buyers is that three of the most striking designs won’t reach showrooms as shown. Peugeot isn’t building the RCZ Vision, Renault isn’t building the E-Space and the Alpine A310 VISION is a one-off. What carries over is their hardware, from Peugeot’s steer-by-wire to Renault’s full-width screen.

Peugeot RCZ Vision

Peugeot’s world premiere is a four-seat electric coupé with a glass roof from nose to tail, a solid-state battery and 500 hp. Its steer-by-wire and Hypersquare wheel reach production from 2027.
