The Polestar 4 has no rear window, and that one decision shapes everything about it. A camera feeds a digital mirror, and the roof line runs unbroken to the tail. The AUTO TV walkaround says the rear seats move back as a result.
We filmed the white Polestar 4 on the stand at Auto Zürich 2024 on the show days. Its stand card carries the Swiss 2024 energy label, so this is the car as Swiss buyers get it. More from that show floor is in our Auto Zürich 2024 report.
What The Missing Window Buys
Auto Illustrierte confirms the layout. There is no rear glass, and the view backwards comes from a digital rear-view mirror.
The walkaround says the design lets Polestar move the rear seats further back, which it describes as limousine-like legroom. It also points to a textile made from recycled plastic in the cabin.
The cockpit is a 15.4-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital display and a 14.7-inch head-up display, according to Auto Illustrierte. The video adds an optional 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with speakers in the headrests.
Two Motors, One Body
The Swiss range has two versions, both with a 100 kWh battery (electric-wow.ch, 5 Sep 2024). The Long Range Single Motor is rear-wheel drive with 200 kW (272 PS) and 343 Nm. Polestar Switzerland quoted up to 620 km WLTP for it, and ADAC lists 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
The Long Range Dual Motor has 400 kW (544 PS) and 686 Nm. It does 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 180 km/h (Auto Illustrierte). At the Swiss premiere on 24 April 2024, Polestar gave a preliminary range of up to 580 km WLTP for this version (auto-wirtschaft.ch).
ADAC lists 526 litres of boot behind the rear seats, plus 15 litres in the front compartment.
The Cost Of The Glass
The trade is the glass itself. The only view backwards is the camera image, and the car has no window to look through if it fails.
What It Costs In Switzerland
Polestar’s Swiss entry price was CHF 62,900 when the first cars were handed over in Thalwil on 5 September 2024 (electric-wow.ch). At the 24 April premiere it had been CHF 63,900 (auto-wirtschaft.ch).
The Dual Motor started at CHF 71,900 in Auto Illustrierte’s report of 2 February 2024. That top-of-range figure is a launch price.

Our Take
The Polestar 4 is a design statement first. The AUTO TV walkaround calls it unique enough to stand out among lookalike crossovers, and the white car on the stand supports that. The camera mirror sits where most SUVs have a window.
On what the stand shows, the case holds up. The cabin is built around one big screen, the shape is longer and cleaner than a conventional SUV, and the walkaround claims the rear seats gain room.
Swiss buyers also got an early cut. The entry price fell by CHF 1,000 between the April premiere and the first deliveries in September.
