Auto Zürich 2024 sold exactly 64,619 tickets, which the organiser calls the biggest audience since the show began. Ford used it for the Swiss premiere of the electric Capri, and a CHF 21,990 Chinese hatchback stood a few steps from a plug-in SUV at up to CHF 74,900.
The 37th edition ran at Messe Zürich from 7 to 10 November 2024, with a Media Day on 6 November. We were on the floor for the first three public days, 7, 8 and 9 November.
Bigger Than 2023, By The Organiser’s Count
Blick put the 2023 attendance at 62,068. The organiser also reported 70 brand presentations with over 80 new products, around 200 accredited media representatives at the Media Day and 24 product premieres.
Its EV Experience logged around 1,650 test drives with 31 electric vehicles, 30% more than in 2023. The organiser describes Auto Zürich as one of the most diverse motor shows of its kind. It says the show stands “very much in contrast to the general trend towards the decline of the motor show format”.
Ford’s Premiere And A One-Off Porsche
Ford Capri
Ford Switzerland announced on 4 October 2024 that the electric Capri would be shown as a Swiss premiere at Auto Zürich, in Hall 3. The rear-wheel-drive version has a 77 kWh net battery, 210 kW (286 PS) and up to 627 km of range. The all-wheel-drive version has 79 kWh, 250 kW (340 PS) and up to 592 km.
Swiss prices run from CHF 43,600 for the standard-range version, due in the first quarter of 2025, to CHF 56,850 for the extended-range all-wheel-drive version (Ford Switzerland, 4 October 2024).
Porsche 911 GT3 RS “Tribute to Jo Siffert”
The green-and-white GT3 RS with a “Tribute to Jo Siffert” sign on its windscreen is a one-off from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, announced on 31 July 2024. It is Pure White with Viper Green sections and start number 29.
It honours the Swiss driver Jo Siffert and the 917’s first victory, the 1,000 km race at the Österreichring on 10 August 1969, won by Siffert and Kurt Ahrens. Porsche said the buyer would be picked at random from interested parties, and listed Auto Zürich as a showing after Swiss Porsche centres in August.

Two Chinese EVs Under CHF 23,000
Dongfeng Box
The Box on the stand carried a windscreen sign reading “Schweizer Premiere”, CHF 21,990 and 310 km WLTP. The label does not hold up. Automobil Revue reported on 21 August 2024 that the car, sold in Switzerland as the Nammi Box, was making its debut in Norway and Switzerland, and Blick drove it on 18 September 2024.
Blick gives CHF 21,990 for the only version coming to Switzerland, with a 42.3 kWh battery, 95 PS (70 kW) and importer Noyo Mobility. We found no credible source billing Auto Zürich as its Swiss premiere.

JAC E30X
JAC Schweiz announced the E30X in September 2024 at CHF 22,989, with 136 hp (100 kW), 350 km of WLTP range and sales from spring 2025. It said the car would be shown to the public for the first time at Auto/Mobil Basel on 7 to 9 September, so Zürich was not its first show.
JAC’s T9 EV pickup, just under 300 PS and from CHF 41,989, was on the Media Stage (Blick, 7 November 2024).

Polestar 4
The Polestar 4 has no rear window. The single-motor version has 200 kW (272 PS) and 620 km of WLTP range, the dual-motor version 400 kW (544 PS) and 590 km, on a 100 kWh battery (Blick, 5 July 2024). Swiss prices started at CHF 63,900 for the single motor and CHF 71,900 for the dual motor (auto-illustrierte, 2 February 2024).

Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai Switzerland opened orders for the fifth-generation Santa Fe on 5 September 2024, in Switzerland with all-wheel drive and two hybrid powertrains only. The hybrid has 158 kW (215 PS) and costs CHF 54,900 to CHF 71,400. The plug-in hybrid has 186 kW (253 PS) and costs CHF 71,900 to CHF 74,900. It is 4.83 m long and seats five, six or seven.

Our Take
Auto Zürich 2024 put a CHF 21,990 Chinese hatchback and a CHF 74,900 plug-in SUV a few steps apart, which is what the organiser’s “most diverse” claim looks like from the floor. The attendance numbers are firm. The premiere labels are not. In what we found, only the Capri was billed a Swiss premiere by its maker. The Box carried the label on its sign despite an earlier Swiss launch, and JAC’s E30X had already been shown in Basel two months before.
So read the “Premiere” signs at any Swiss show as the stand’s claim, and check the maker’s own release. Our Auto Zürich 2025 report picks up the story a year later.
“This year’s Auto Zürich 2024 was a great success and a trailblazer for the mobility behaviour of the Swiss.”
