MG Cyberster First Look: A 510 PS Electric Roadster With Scissor Doors, Filmed At Three Shows

We first filmed the Cyberster in Brussels in January 2024. Belgium later listed it from €65,490 and Switzerland from CHF 63,990.

MG’s Cyberster is an electric roadster with scissor doors and, in its all-wheel-drive form, 510 PS. We filmed it at three shows, first in Brussels in January 2024 and then in Basel and Zürich in 2025.

By autumn 2024 Belgium listed it at €65,490 to €69,990, and Switzerland at CHF 63,990 to CHF 67,990.

One Battery, Two Characters

Every Cyberster has a 77 kWh battery, 74.4 kWh of it usable. The rear-wheel-drive Trophy has 250 kW (340 hp) and 475 Nm, and reaches 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. The all-wheel-drive GT has 375 kW (510 hp) and 725 Nm, and needs 3.2 seconds.

newmobility.news reported both sets of figures from the Belgian launch. The Trophy goes further, with 506 km of WLTP range against 442 km for the GT. Both charge at up to 144 kW DC, and 10 to 80 per cent takes about 38 minutes.

autosprint lists electrically controlled scissor doors and a fabric roof that folds behind the seats. The boot holds 249 litres whether the roof is up or down.

The Price Of 510 PS Is Weight

All of that hardware is heavy. Blick’s Swiss test of the all-wheel-drive car, in October 2024, put its weight at about two tonnes. That is what a 77 kWh battery costs a two-seat roadster.

Brussels, January 2024

The first car stood on MG’s stand under a banner for the brand’s hundredth year. It was red, with the “MG Cyberster” plate under the nose and a red interior visible over the windscreen frame. AUTO TV published the video on 3 February 2024.

Basel, September 2025

We filmed it again at AUTO/MOBIL Basel, September 2025.

The Basel car is a cream-grey GT on the Auto Kurve AG stand, MG-Center Bubendorf. Its open door carries the lettering “Cyberster 510 PS | 4×4”.

The AUTO TV walkaround, published on 21 September, points to the scissor doors, the multi-screen cockpit and the Alcantara seats. It also picks out a red Super Sport button on the steering wheel. The other cars on that floor are in our AUTO/MOBIL Basel 2025 report, and MG’s place among the Chinese brands is in our Chinese cars report.

Zürich, October 2025

We filmed it again at Auto Zürich, October 2025.

The Zürich car is white, with a red fabric roof above the windscreen and the plate “MG Cyberster, astara.com”, the name of the Swiss importer. A sign on its windscreen reads “100% elektrisch, 4×4, 510 PS, 0 – 100 km/h in 3.2 sek”.

The walkaround, published on 19 November, explains that the fabric roof folds away without taking boot space, and quotes the same 249-litre boot as autosprint. As our Auto Zürich 2025 report notes, the Cyberster was not MG’s show premiere that year.

Under 70,000 Euros Or Francs

In Belgium, newmobility.news reported on 1 October 2024 that the Trophy Extended Range costs €65,490 and the GT €69,990. A red soft-top adds €1,000, and red or grey Alcantara another €1,000.

In Switzerland, autosprint gave CHF 63,990 for the rear-wheel-drive car on 19-inch wheels and CHF 67,990 for the all-wheel-drive car on 20-inch wheels, on 30 October 2024. Blick quotes the same two prices.

Our Take

The Basel and Zürich walkarounds make one argument. An electric roadster with scissor doors and 510 PS, they say, should not exist at this price, and they set it against the BMW Z4 and the Porsche Boxster S.

They call it a Chinese-built roadster with a British badge, and say it proves electric cars can have character. The price lists back the value half of that case. Scissor doors and 510 PS come in the dearest Cyberster for under 70,000, in euros or in francs.
