Five new cars at Auto Zürich start under CHF 20,000, and two of them are on sale today, according to their sources. The other three are orderable or due soon, so this shortlist puts the timing next to every price.
We priced 43 of the organiser’s 89 novelties and found twelve under CHF 30,000. We did not check mainstream petrol and hybrid models from Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Kia and others. Every price we found is in our Swiss price table.

The Leapmotor B05 has two prices. Stellantis Switzerland launched it at CHF 25,900, the price Emil Frey recommends; the organiser’s page and nau.ch quote CHF 27,900, which one dealer calls the list price, with the first cars sold at the launch price.
Five Cars Under CHF 20,000
Dacia Spring, 16,790. The cheapest car we found, ahead of every Chinese newcomer. Orderable, with no delivery date given.
JAC E30X, 16,900. On sale now, with 315 km of WLTP range in ECO mode from a 44.6 kWh battery, according to JAC Switzerland. The CHF 3,900 Luxury package takes it to CHF 20,800.
smart #2, 18,300. The cheapest way into the new two-seater. Smart opened Swiss orders long before deliveries, so a buyer who signs at the show waits until the second quarter of 2027.
Renault Twingo, 18,900. On sale, at a catalogue price before Renault’s customer benefit. Renault’s site does not name the trim, so ask.
Geely E2, 19,990. Five seats, a 375-litre boot and 70 litres more under the bonnet. It is due later in 2026, from a brand that launched here in September.

A Leapmotor And A VW At CHF 24,900
Nothing we priced starts between CHF 20,000 and 24,900. Then the Leapmotor B03X and the VW ID. Polo arrive level, with the Škoda Epiq CHF 1,000 behind. Leapmotor says the B03X is already at Swiss partners, while VW gives no Polo delivery date.
The list closes with a tie at CHF 29,990, between the Geely E5 and the Hyundai IONIQ 3.
Our take
Under CHF 20,000 and in a hurry, start with the JAC E30X and the Renault Twingo, then the orderable Dacia Spring. Between CHF 20,000 and 30,000, go straight to the CHF 24,900 pair. At one price, equipment, delivery and the nearest dealer decide it, so ask both stands which version the from-price buys.
