Warsaw Motor Show 2025: GAC’s First Cars In Poland, VW’s Tayron And Alpine’s Electric A290

GAC brought two electric SUVs to Ptak Warsaw Expo in its first year in Poland, on a floor run largely by dealers, where the organiser counted 34,184 visitors.

GAC had only just begun selling in Poland, and at Warsaw Motor Show 2025 its two electric SUVs shared the floor with Alpine’s A290 and Tesla’s updated Model Y. Volkswagen brought its new Tayron, already on a Polish price list.

Many of these stands were run by dealers. Plates and wall panels read “CityMotors Gdańsk” on the Volkswagen stand, “Bavaria Motors” on BMW, “Bohemia Motors” on Škoda and “Alpine Warszawa” on Alpine.

Volkswagen Tayron, A Year After Its Premiere

The plate on the car reads “Nowy Tayron”, and the stand card shows a 2.0 TSI 4MOTION with 150 kW and a seven-speed DSG, in the Elegance trim. Volkswagen announced the Tayron as a world premiere on 9 October 2024, ahead of the Paris show.

It is about 4.8 metres long, seats five or seven, and holds up to 885 litres of luggage with five on board. Volkswagen’s range includes a 110 kW mild hybrid and two plug-in hybrids with a 19.7 kWh battery and more than 100 km of electric range.

In Germany, ADAC lists the car on the card, the 2.0 TSI Elegance 4MOTION DSG, at €56,980, within a Tayron range of €48,010 to €62,440. Those are ADAC catalogue base prices; Volkswagen’s own launch price was €45,475. We look at the car in detail in our Tayron Up Close.

Alpine’s A290 And A110 Side By Side

Alpine’s electric hot hatch, in matt grey with a lit “X” light signature, stood on a stand with a blue Alpine wall. In Germany it launched in July 2024 at €38,700 for the GT up to €44,700 for the GTS (electrive, 31 July 2024). It has a 52 kWh battery, 130 or 160 kW, and up to 380 km of WLTP range.

New Mobility reported that the Renault 5 and Alpine A290 won European Car of the Year 2025 as one shared entry.

The blue car beside it carries an “A110” plate. Alpine’s French price list of February 2025 ran from €65,000 for the base A110 to €79,500 for the GTS and €122,500 for the limited A110 R 70 (Planète Renault, 26 February 2025).

The base car has 252 hp, and the GTS and R 70 have 300 hp. We follow the brand across eight shows of photographs.

GAC’s Two Electric SUVs

GAC began operating in Poland in 2025 through the importer Jameel Motors. Its Hyptec HT is an electric SUV with a 72.6 kWh battery, 445 km of WLTP range and 244 hp, according to AutoCentrum (16 September 2025).

It cost 222,900 zł in Poland. It charges at up to 163 kW, and GAC gives an eight-year, 160,000 km vehicle warranty.

The Aion V is a mid-size electric SUV, 4.60 metres long, with a 75.3 kWh battery and up to 510 km of WLTP range. Charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes 24 minutes, according to GAC.

electrive reported on 10 September 2025 that GAC’s European price started at €35,990, without saying which market or whether the figure includes VAT. Sales began in Poland, Portugal and Finland. AutoCentrum called Poland the first EU country in which GAC started operating, with a first showroom in Warsaw.

Tesla’s Updated Model Y

The red Model Y on Tesla’s stand is the updated car. In Germany, electrive reported prices from €44,990 for the base rear-wheel-drive car and €49,990 for the Long Range, with the all-wheel-drive Long Range at €52,990 (21 February 2025).

Three Shows Under One Roof

Warsaw Motor Show 2025 ran from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 November at Ptak Warsaw Expo in Nadarzyn, near Warsaw, open from 10:00 to 17:00. The organiser, Ptak Warsaw Expo, calls it the eighth edition. We were there on the first day, Friday 14 November.

It ran alongside the ninth Warsaw Oldtimer Show and the third Automotive Parts Expo, with a Warsaw Automotive Congress on road safety tied to the parts show.

Ptak Warsaw Expo’s results release said the show attracted “34,184 professionals from 17 countries as well as a wide group of automotive enthusiasts.” It does not explain how the figure was counted, or whether it includes the two parallel shows.

The organiser’s announcement of 6 November named Tesla Poland and DR Automobiles Group among the exhibitors. It promised premieres, supercars, electric cars, tuning, a drift track and an off-road zone, and listed 10 named exhibitors for the motor show alone, among them Tesla Poland, Auto Żoliborz, MBM Motors and Kameleon Group.

It named no specific premiere, so we have not labelled any car in this report as one.

Złoty On The Cards, Euros From Elsewhere

Warsaw 2025 was a dealer-led show with a visible group of new and Chinese-built arrivals. GAC’s two SUVs are the reason to remember it, because they had only just reached Polish buyers.

The weak spot for a reader comparing prices is the currency. The cards on the stands were in złoty, and the euro prices we could find come from Germany, France and, for GAC, an unspecified market.

If you want to see how the floor has moved since, our multi-year Warsaw report follows it show by show.
